Cooling-tower installations, replacements, and retrofits are part of R.M. Thornton's repertoire of capabilities.

Cooling towers are typically located on the roofs of buildings and provide the path of heat rejection through water, to air heat exchange and evaporation from a building's air-conditioning system. Mostly utilized in larger commercial, governmental, and institutional buildings, cooling towers must be installed and maintained correctly to allow the proper and efficient operation of a chilled water system.

Rigging is a critical factor in tower installations and it is essential that these projects be performed without mistakes. New cooling tower installations are often part of new chiller plants. As a full-service commercial and institutional mechanical HVAC contractor, Thornton has the experience to install new chiller plants.

COOLING TOWER PROJECT

LOCATION:  VA Hospital - Baltimore, MD

R.M. Thornton, Inc. installed three (3) new COOLING TOWERS along with the Condenser Water Pumps, Condenser Water Piping, Controls, and Electrical Wiring.  The project value was over $1 million.  See photos below:
