HVAC Service Technician

R.M. Thornton, Inc. strives to have the best people working in all positions in the company.  We are constantly looking for the brightest and best HVAC Service Technicians who can perform Maintenance and Service Repairs on Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Systems; and can install new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines.

Requiresments: A high school diploma or its equivalent; we are a Steamfitter Local 602 Shop in the Washington – Baltimore Metropolitan area, including northern Virginia. This position, depending on the expertise level, requires 6 months or more of experience in the field or in a related area and knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, tools, instruments and procedures within a particular field.  Applicant must rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.  He/she must complete legible paperwork and submit it in a timely manner and be able to wire low voltage and high voltage circuits on new installations.  Typically reports to a Supervisor or Manager.

HVAC Maintenance/Project Service Sales

Experienced, Self-motivated Professional to Quote Repair, Retrofit, and Service Agreements. Find and secure service projects, agreements and repairs. Develop a customer base by sourcing new contacts and leveraging prior business relationships. Compensation is salary plus bonus based on sales and other benefits. This is the perfect opportunity to join a fast growing service team within DC's most experienced mechanical contractor.

You will have control of all aspects of the job and earn bonuses based on the gross profits generated. Yearly sales plan from $1.0M to $8M plus based on profile of projects sold.

Requirements: This high profile, hands-on position requires a highly motivated, self-starter that is driven to succeed and wants to be the best in their field. Candidates must have a proven, stable employment record in the Commercial/Institutional Mechanical Construction/HVAC industry including extensive knowledge of the Washington, D.C. marketplace. In addition, a thorough understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and how to proactively Estimate, Propose and Sell these systems. A four year degree is highly desired, but experience in HVAC project sales can be a substitute.
